Shoptet MCP: Connect AI Assistants to Your E-shop

Shoptet MCP provides a new way to connect AI assistants directly to a Shoptet e-shop. It exposes selected e-shop operations as structured tools, allowing compatible AI clients to retrieve data and perform supported tasks through natural-language instructions.

Currently available exclusively for Shoptet Premium e-shops.

What is Shoptet MCP?

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open protocol for connecting AI applications to external data sources and tools. Shoptet MCP acts as a controlled bridge between an MCP-compatible client and the e-shop. The client requests a tool call, Shoptet authorizes and executes the supported operation, and the result is returned to the conversation.

The remote MCP server is available at: https://mcp.shoptet.com/mcp

Supported workflows

Shoptet MCP supports common e-shop workflows, including:

The exact set of tools available to an AI client depends on the connected e-shop and the permissions granted during authorization.

Connection and authentication

  1. Install the Shoptet MCP add-on in your e-shop.
  2. Add https://mcp.shoptet.com/mcp as a remote MCP server in a compatible AI client.
  3. Complete the OAuth authorization flow and select which tools the client may use.

The configuration interface differs between AI clients, but the MCP server address and OAuth-based authorization flow remain the same.

Security model

Shoptet MCP is designed to keep access to the e-shop controlled and transparent:

As with any tool-enabled AI workflow, users should review the requested operation and its parameters before approving actions that modify e-shop data.

Example use cases

After connecting the e-shop, users can give the AI assistant instructions such as:

The assistant translates the instruction into one or more structured MCP tool calls and returns the result directly in the conversation.

Getting started with Shoptet MCP

Install the Shoptet MCP add-on, connect the remote server in your preferred MCP-compatible client and complete the OAuth authorization.
